About Us

The Ooey Gooey Story is a remarkable true-life tale.  Kathleen Chilcote, the main proprietor of Ooey Gooey Rolls started the journey by listening to her dream.  She shared her vision with her husband David and they never looked back.  This episode of their lives takes many twists and turns, starting out in Naples, Florida and culminates in Nashville, Indiana.  It involves travel, fear, faith, belief, hard work and taking chances.  It includes building a business from nothing, creating friendships that will traverse time, taking huge risks and believing in each other.  It weathers adversity, opposition, monetary and governmental hurdles.  But the dream becomes a reality.  We hope readers will take the opportunity to experience part of our dream, become part of our Ooey Gooey family and most importantly, enjoy the experience.

Kathleen Chilcote is a beautiful person, not only in how she looks, but in how she lives life, treats others, pursues goals, handles stress and enjoys the time she has been given.  She has held many roles in her life: daughter, student, wife, mother, grandmother, clothing artist, author, restaurant manager, motorcycle rider, teacher, confidant, resume writer, recruiter, chef, baker, and restaurant owner.

David Chilcote is a kind soul.  He bucks the system and drives Kathleen crazy, but she loves him, nonetheless.  He also has held many roles in life: bottle washer, telephone operator, janitor, bartender, psychotherapist, mental health counselor, social worker, clinical manager, author, motorcycle rider, artist, dishwasher, restaurant server, baker, and restaurant owner.

Kathleen and David’s current goal is to provide patrons of Ooey Gooey Rolls Café the absolute best dining and palette pleasing experience any customer could imagine.  They treat each customer like family and subscribe to the notion that treating others as you wish to be treated yourself is the best way to succeed in life.

The next time you visit Ooey Gooey Rolls Café at 146 East Main Street in Nashville, Indiana, please ask to meet them in person and to read the Ooey Gooey Book while you dine.  You won’t be disappointed.
